  • The Payne Stewart Golf Club played host to the first Missouri Women's Mid Amateur Championship.
  • The course was in great shape, and early morning tee times helped beat the heat this week.
  • First off the tee at the inaugural Mid Amateur Championship was Lacy Shelton of Overland Park, Kansas
  • Tammy Harmon, from Kansas City, MO used to coach high school golf, and now coaches girls and boy's tennis at Staley High School.  She has won six Staley Farms club championships in a row.
  • University of Missouri Women's Golf Assistant Coach, Mindy Coyle of Columbia, MO was in the first group at the Mid Amateur Championship.
  • Lacy Shelton played golf at the University of Alabama during 1998-2002.
  • She had qualified for the U.S. Women's Mid Amateur Championship four times.
  • Mindy Coyle was a great Missouri player, leading MU to their first ever NCAA Championships in 2005.
  • Lacy Shelton gives back to golf by serving on the Kansas City Golf Association Board of Directors.
  • Mindy  was runner-up at the 2003 Big 12 Conference Championship in her sophomore year.
  • Heidi Rice of Springfield watches her ball roll out after a chip onto the sixth green.

  • Diane Chancellor, Glencoe, MO has qualified for the U.S. Women's Senior Amateur Championship several times and has been a member of the Missouri Fore State team .
  • Stephany Powell is the MWGA USGA Team/Fore State Director and has multiple runner up finishes at the Missouri Women's Amateur Championship and received the Harriet Duncan Award this year.

  • Tina Jones of Wildwood blasts out of the bunker to a downhill pin very nicely.
